What is the difference between a horseman/woman versus a horse owner? To most people there is no difference, but in the horse world a horseman is someone that lives it and connect with a horse on a whole different level. Think about it what is the difference between a woman that gives birth versus a mom? Who is there thru every sickness, school events, etc. Horses are a blessing, they can change your whole world and they can heal, but they are also a responsibility. You are either and owner that just shows up from time to time or you are all in. With horses come dirt, mud, extreme hot or cold, sickness, challenges and much more and normally the worst things come at the worst times. Do you handle it or do you have someone else do it? An experience I've had that I will never forget was being told "we live here practically we invest everything to this" but then you actually saw what was going on and it was hired help doing all the caring. There is nothing wrong with being a horse owner, if I had the funds I'd hire help, but the problem is do you trust a babysitter fully with your child? Could I know that they are being fed correctly? So I'd be here anyways right? I guess it's an overprotective horse mom for you. Hahah we'll cover that another day. Until then take the time to enjoy this horse life. Enjoy the grass, the horse scratchy spots, and any riding time you get in.
